Letter to the principal

Name: Limi 18 May 2017

Dear Mr Hendricks.

Today I am writing this letter to inform you about why I should be one of your helpers. I know that you have a variety of pupils to select from, but I think that you should really consider choosing me. I know that I am capable of being a wonderful and trustful helper. I am a good communicator and I like to help those in need. As I teach others to be responsible, good and helpful, I might be able to learn some more things that benefit to my needs. So while I help others to learn I can learn too. So if you give me this task to do I promise to complete it with the best of my abilities. I really hope you think hard on choosing me and If you do I think you're doing the right thing.

Yours sincerely:

Limi

( I wrote this letter for our principal, who came around our classes asking for people to be a helper. A helper was meant to help certain people who were selected by him and another man. there were only 5 spaces for the job, but if you wanted to get chosen you had to write a paragraph. This paragraph had to have good grammar, spelling and strong vocabulary. After a week or two he choose six kids, and I was happy I was one of them)

Infrences 3

Name: Limi 18 May 2017

WALHT: Use inferences correctly while reading.

Success criteria:
  • I must use the clues from the text and the things I know to have a conclusion for the picture.
  • I must look at the information and make a smart prediction or judgement

Kids on a boat

In this picture it could be summer or spring because no one is stupid enough to go on a boat in winter or autumn because it's too cold. The kids on the boat are probably surprised and terrified, because they don't want to fall off. The boat looks like it's going to capsize, so the kids might fall out and the boat might tumble over.

Mother and daughter

In this photo the girl looks depressed, and sad. She might be feeling sad and depressed because she has the flu and couldn't go out with her friends. She looks like she is lying in her bed with her mother trying to cheer her up. The mother will probably say “ it's okay sweetie” or something nice to cheer her up.

Crying baby

The baby is outside, it could be spring or summer. I think it is easter considering he is wearing bunny ears. The expression on the little boys face is sad and he looks like he doesn't want to be where he is or doesn't like what he's wearing. If he keeps crying somebody might come and pick him up, or try to make him happy again.

Today in class for reading our assessment was to, define inferences in our own words. With the help of a buddy we had to define the meaning, and explain it in our own words. Once we we're done we were told to write down words that describe, inferences.

This probability game is called, probability fair. You have to earn tickets to get into the fair, by choosing the right answer. They gave you a variety of probability answers and you have to choose the one that you think is going to be correct. Each round the wheel changes colours, and the answers do too. Each answer you get right you get 5 tickets to get into the fair.
